When Teeth Need Repair, We Rebuild Them

Restorative dentistry is exactly what it sounds like. When teeth are broken, decayed, worn down, or missing, we restore them so your mouth works and looks the way it should.

That covers a wide range: a small tooth-colored filling for a cavity. A crown to protect a cracked molar. A bridge or implant to replace a tooth you’ve been missing for years. Or a full-mouth reconstruction when many teeth need attention at once.

You do not have to know what you need before you call. That’s our job. During your consultation, one of our doctors will look at your mouth, listen to your concerns, and walk you through what’s needed, what’s optional, and what it will cost. Nothing gets started until you understand the plan.

The Full Range, All Under One Roof

Below are the seven categories of restorative care we handle in-house. Click any card to learn more.

Tooth-Colored Fillings

When a cavity is caught early, a filling stops the decay and rebuilds the tooth. Ours are tooth-colored composite, so they blend in and are hard to spot even up close.

Dental Crowns

A crown is a cap that covers the whole tooth. We use them when a tooth is cracked, worn thin, or too damaged for a filling to hold. Modern porcelain crowns look and feel like your own tooth.

Dental Bridges

A bridge fills the gap when you’re missing a tooth (or two) but the teeth on either side are still healthy. It anchors to those neighboring teeth, restoring both function and appearance.

Root Canal Treatment

When decay reaches the nerve inside a tooth, a root canal removes the infection and saves the tooth from extraction. Modern root canals are much more comfortable than their reputation suggests.

Dentures and Partial Dentures

For patients missing many teeth or all of them, dentures restore the ability to eat, speak, and smile with confidence. We fit both full and partial dentures, and we take the time to get them right.

Learn more

Dental Implants

An implant replaces a missing tooth from the root up, using a titanium post that fuses with your jawbone. Once healed, it looks, feels, and works like a natural tooth. Great for one tooth, a few teeth, or as an anchor for dentures.

Full-Mouth Reconstruction

When many teeth need attention at once, from years of grinding, decay, or trauma, a full-mouth reconstruction combines several restorative treatments into one coordinated plan. We phase the work so it fits your life and your budget.

Why Santa Maria Families Trust Us With Their Restorative Care

Comprehensive Care In-House

Most restorative work stays with us. You don’t get bounced between specialists for a crown, a bridge, or even most implant cases. The doctor who plans your treatment is the doctor who does it.

Modern Materials, Natural Results

Tooth-colored composite. Porcelain crowns that match your surrounding teeth. Titanium implants engineered to last. We use materials that look right and hold up over time, because you’re going to be living with this work for years.

Straight Talk About Cost

We tell you what’s needed, what’s optional, and what it will cost, before we start. If a treatment can be broken into phases so you’re comfortable financially, we’ll build the plan that way. No surprises.

How a Restorative Visit Actually Works

Call and get scheduled.

Tell us what’s going on, a broken tooth, an old crown that’s giving out, or a mouth that just needs a real look. We’ll get you in.

We examine and plan.

Your first visit includes a thorough exam, digital X-rays if needed, and a clear conversation about what we see. You leave knowing exactly what’s next.

Treatment on your timeline.

Simple cases can often start the same day. Bigger cases we phase over multiple visits so you’re never overwhelmed, financially or otherwise.

Follow-up and check-ins.

Restorative work is a long-term partnership. We see you back to make sure everything is holding up and to catch anything new early.

Restorative Dentistry FAQ

How do I know if I need restorative treatment or just a filling?
Call us. A cavity caught early is a filling. A cavity that’s spread, a cracked tooth, or a tooth that already has a big old filling breaking down usually needs something more. We’ll look and tell you honestly.
Will insurance cover restorative work?
Most PPO plans cover a portion of restorative treatments, though what they cover and how much varies a lot. We work with most PPO plans, and we’ll review your specific coverage with you before treatment starts so there are no surprises.
How long do crowns, bridges, and implants last?
With good home care and regular checkups, a well-made crown or bridge often lasts 10 to 15 years or longer. Implants can last a lifetime. Longevity depends on the material, how you care for it, and your bite.
Do I need to be referred out for anything, or can Kitto handle it all?
Most restorative work, including fillings, crowns, bridges, root canals, dentures, and most implant cases, we do here in the office. If a case requires a specialist we don’t have on staff (rare, but it happens), we’ll coordinate the referral and stay involved.
What if I’ve avoided the dentist for years?
You are not the first, and we will not lecture you. Come in. We’ll figure out where things stand, prioritize what actually matters, and build a plan you can start on. The hardest part is the phone call.
Do restorative treatments hurt?
Modern restorative dentistry is a lot more comfortable than it used to be. We use effective local anesthesia for anything that would otherwise hurt, and we take breaks and check in throughout. If you’re anxious, tell us. We adjust.
Can I break restorative work into stages if the cost feels overwhelming?
Yes, and this is often the smart move. We can phase treatment so you handle the most urgent problems first (usually pain, infection, or a failing tooth), then work through the rest over months or years as your budget allows.
