Common questions

Are you accepting new patients?
Yes. Call (805) 922-4109 or use our contact form. New patients of all ages welcome.
Where is your office?
937 E Main St, Ste 105, Santa Maria, CA 93454. Free parking in front and in the adjacent lot.
What are your hours?
Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. We’re also open one Friday each month; call us for the next date. Closed weekends.
Do you take my insurance?
We work with most PPO dental plans. See our insurance and payment page or call us with your carrier info.
What happens at my first visit?
Your first visit takes about an hour and includes listening to your goals, a gentle exam with any needed imaging, and a written treatment plan with cost estimate. See our new-patient guide.
Do you handle dental emergencies?
Yes. We prioritize same-day visits for true emergencies. See our emergency dentistry page.
What ages do you treat?
All ages. We see kids, teens, adults, and seniors. See family dentistry.
How often should I come in for a cleaning?
Most healthy adults benefit from two cleanings a year. Some patients need more frequent visits based on gum health or cavity history. See cleanings and exams.
At what age should my child see a dentist?
Around the first birthday or when the first tooth comes in. See kids’ dentistry.
Do you offer sedation for anxious patients?
Yes. Call us to discuss what is appropriate for your situation. See our dental anxiety page.
Can you replace a missing tooth?
Yes. We offer dental implants and bridges. We’ll walk you through both and let you decide.
Do you offer teeth whitening?
Yes. We provide custom-fit take-home whitening trays with professional-strength gel. See teeth whitening.
Do you accept Medi-Cal?
We don’t participate in most Medi-Cal or state Medicaid dental plans. Call us if you have questions about what plans we accept.
What is a dental emergency vs. something that can wait?
Severe pain, swelling, bleeding that won’t stop, knocked-out teeth, and broken teeth are emergencies. Mild sensitivity, small chips, and food stuck are typically not. See emergency dentistry for details.
Can my whole family come the same day?
Often, yes. Tell us at booking and we’ll try to line up back-to-back family appointments.
Will I know the cost before treatment, and when do I pay?
Yes. Before any treatment beyond your exam and cleaning, you get a written plan with a cost estimate. If you have insurance, we check your benefits first and file the claim for you. Your portion is due at the time of service. We accept cash, check, major credit cards, and financing through CareCredit or Cherry for larger treatment. See insurance and payment.
